Compression Therapy

What is Compression Therapy?

Compression therapy involves two inflatable boots that are placed around your legs and are rhythmically inflated as well as deflated in order to rapidly improve poor circulation. It is easy, convenient, safe and painless. The therapy assists your body's cardiac system in moving fluids from the limbs back to the circulatory system, which in turn removes the unwanted material.

Compression Therapy has also been known to prevent the development of deep vein thrombosis. Deep vein thrombosis is a circulatory disorder where a blood clot is formed in a vein deep in the body. It presents as red or discolored skin on the leg, pain and a feeling of warmth in the affected leg. Compression treatment helps reduce the chances of a portion of the clot breaking off and travelling to a crucial part of the body such as the lungs or the heart which could turn out fatal and life threatening.
